Yahaya Bello Pleads Not Guilty to EFCC’s 16-count Charge

Former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has pleaded not guilty to the 16-count money laundering charge slammed on him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

This comes after he finally honoured the Commission’s invitation on Tuesday, following months of refusal to turn himself in. GNtv Reporters.

Yahaya Bello vehemently denied the allegations before Justice Maryann Anenih of the Federal High Court, Abuja on Wednesday, as they were read out to him.

Afterwards, his counsel, Joseph Daudu, moved application for bail, but it was countered by EFCC’s counsel on the ground that the it had expired in October.

The court adjourned to December 10 for a ruling on the bail application, adding that the defendant is to be remanded in the custody of the EFCC.
