The Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, has disclosed why he knelt before the Oba of Benin prior to the September 21 Edo State Governorship election.
He said he knelt before the Oba to apologize to him for bringing Governor Obaseki.
Adams Oshiomhole said this during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today show with Seun Okimbaloye on Monday, September 23, 2024.
According to the video shared by Channels Television, Oshiomhole said: “Even as a sitting Governor, I respect the traditional institution of the Oba of Benin and all the royal fathers in Edo State.
“I always kneel down before the Oba, and I will always do so. Even when the Oba before this current one told me not to do so, I said no because a father is always a father.
“If you want to fault me for being humble, that’s for you. I knelt down to apologize for bringing Obaseki. Many people kept telling me that they warned me about his character”.
