Gov. Fubara to IAUE Students: ‘Let the School Pass Through You’ as He Approves New Projects

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has approved a series of developmental projects at Ignatius Ajuru University of Education ( IAUE ) during his visit today to assess the institution’s facilities and address its needs.

Responding to requests from the university’s Governing Council, the governor approved the construction of new male and female hostels, an administrative block, a health center, and a sports complex to enhance students’ welfare and academic experience.

Welcomed by key figures including Amb. Ihunwo Chijioke (Obio/Akpor LGA Chairman), Chief Adokiye Amiesimaka (IAUE Governing Council Chairman), Prof. Okey Onuchuku (Acting Vice-Chancellor), and Chief Sa Hanny Woko, Governor Fubara emphasized the importance of holistic education.

Addressing the students, he urged them to fully embrace their academic journey: “Don’t just pass through the school—let the school pass through you. Take something valuable with you when you leave.”
