The Special Assistant to the Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni (ONELGA) chairman on students affairs, Comr. Tina Bright Odukwu, has applauded the ONELGA chairman, Prince Isaac Umejuru, for commencing payment of bursary to students.

Speaking during an interview with GNtv Reporters on Thursday, December 12, 2024, she appreciated the council chairman for fulfilling his campaign promise to students in the local government, affirming that it is a sign of better things to come.
Comr. Tina confirmed that 2000 students have been screened, and that Prince Isaac Umejuru is also paying the bursary arrears inherited from the previous administration.

“The previous administration led by the CTC chairman, Pastor Prince Ejekwe, verified 2000 ONELGA students for bursary payment but the funds were not disbursed.
“Now, the government of Prince Isaac Umejuru, the executive chairman of ONELGA, has decided to alleviate the suffering of the student community.
“He made the bursary payment a priority, marking it as the first project of his administration.
Furthermore, she disclosed that the payment was made in batches, as 1500 students have been paid bursaries of N50,000 each.
“The bursary payment of N50,000 was disbursed in batches. The first, second and third batches have been paid. The last batch comprising 500 students will be paid soon,” she said.

Additionally, she urged ONELGA students to be calm and patient as everybody will be paid.
She also appreciated the council boss for showing commitment to students’ welfare, urging all students to support his administration.
