Breaking: Gov. Fubara Ignores Martin Amaewhule, Makes New Appointment

As the political unrest in Rivers State thickens, Sir Siminalayi Fubabra has approved a new appointment despite the 48 hours ultimatum issued by Martin Amaewhule led Assembly.

Recall that the Rivers State House of Assembly gave Governor Siminalayi Fubara 48 hours to submit a new list of commissioner nominees. Speaker Martin Amaewhule accused the governor of unlawfully swearing in 19 commissioners without legislative approval, violating the Constitution. The lawmakers also alleged that Fubara made unauthorized appointments, including that of Dagogo Iboroma as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, without prior assembly confirmation.

In a recent statement signed by Dr. Tammy Wenike Danagogo, Secretary to the State Government, His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, has approved the appointment of Professor Isaac Zeb-obipi as the new Vice Chancellor of the Rivers State University, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Hartcourt.
