Breaking: Gov. Fubara Approves 100k Christmas Bonus For Workers & Pensioners

In a remarkable show of generosity and commitment to the welfare of Rivers State citizens, Gov. Fubara , GSSRS, has approved a N100,000 Christmas bonus for civil servants, public servants, and pensioners in the state.

The announcement, made on December 23, 2024, is part of the Governor’s efforts to ensure a joyful and fulfilling Christmas celebration for all beneficiaries. This initiative aligns with the “Rivers First” mantra, which prioritizes the well-being and happiness of the people.

The bonus will be disbursed across all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) and includes pensioners from both civil and public services. This marks the first time pensioners are included in the Governor’s Christmas bonus package, setting a historic milestone for the administration.

A Legacy of Generosity, Gov. Fubara

This is the second year under Governor Fubara’s administration that civil servants have received a Christmas bonus of N100,000, a figure significantly exceeding the nation’s minimum wage. His Excellency has directed the immediate implementation of this approval to ensure timely disbursement ahead of the yuletide season.

The Head of Civil Service, George Nwaeke, PhD, mni, emphasized that this initiative reflects Governor Fubara’s commitment to improving the lives of Rivers people across various sectors.

“The inclusion of pensioners in this year’s bonus highlights the Governor’s dedication to equitable welfare and his resolve to secure the happiness of all Rivers people,” he stated.
