The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has won the 2024 Ondo State gubernatorial election.
According to a report by Channels Television, the APC candidate cleared all 18 local government areas and scored 248,000 votes more than his closest rival.
Aiyedatiwa was declared winner by Olayemi Akinwumi, the returning Officer for the Ondo state election. He is also the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Lokoja, Kogi State.
GNtv Reporters learnt that Aiyedatiwa got 366,781 votes to defeat PDP’s candidate, Ajayi Agboola, who got 117,845 votes.
The returning officer said: “…that Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of the APC, having satisfied the requirement of the law, is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected”.
